I was wondering if anybody new a way to turn an .avi file into a dvd file. I know the quality will be terible, but I still want to do it. The file can be played by quicktime, so I tried to just copy it into IDVD3, but it said invalid format. I have the full version of quicktime, But I don't know what to convert the avi into to get idvd to read it. Any help would be apriciated. Thanks, John
You should look into getting the MPEG-2 Plug in for QuickTime. It should help you convert your AVI into MPEG-2 for burning to DVD. Also, check out this Web site for freeware info and forums for Mac: http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ Also http://www.dvdrhelp.com
I'm sorry, but I gave the wrong info. The QuickTime plug-in allows you to play back and make MPEG-2, but not avi. This product is commercial, but claims to convert to AVI: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/imaging_3d/debabelizer.html Otherwise, check out versiontracker.com for freeware and shareware products available.
