Turning internet off when not on wifi??? Please help

    I need to know how to stop the iphone accessing the internet when im not connected to wifi (and still be able to recieve calls/text)? I dont have a data plan and its costing me if i accidently connect it to the net... I have an officially unlocked iPhone3G 16GB

    apparently not. but you can still receive calls and text even when you dont have 'edge' or 3g connection, so not sure why you put that in there.

    I put that there because u can turn it to airplane mode but turn wifi on to do what I need - but u won't get calls/text

    Just tell your cell provider to turn off internet to your number.I also have a iphone with no data plan and if i try to go on the internet other than on wifi it says error no data network.You will just have to hook up to a wifi to get your e-mails and etc.
