zztone, that site is great, but it doesn't have any information about the silver-line minis. i guess that ritek is my best guess, but for 22.4 for 25 silver-lines against 2.4 for each ritek. also, i forgot to mention that the company that's ordering the silver-lines, said that they can also buy from a cheaper company, though he said he doesn't know the name of it.
any help will be good. thanks in advance, ZC.

This sucks, placed my order on 4/28, still no word on my product being shipped yet. You'd think they'd at least change the availability of the item to Out of stock, instead of "Immediate".

I'm sorry if this has been explained already, I've been searching all day and have only found references to it.

Would I be able to use the SDLOAD softmod (regular Action Replay and homemade SD-MemoryCard) to run backups on mini DVD-Rs? If so, could I just use GCOS to run backups through Action Replay like I would through the Max Drive Pro?

    Thanks.

If anyone is still looking I found the mini dvd-r's on www.allmediaoutlet.com for as little as $.49 each before S&H. Here it is strait to the site::: yes these are the ritek's >>> "http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/allmedia/hot-ritek-ridata-branded-mini-dvd-r-dvdr-4x-146gb-blank-dvd-media-in-10-20-50-100-200-pack-in-10-pack-cakebox-perfect-for-your-sony-panasonic-and-hitachi-digital-camcorders-group-1875.htm"

today22, I've also heard hints, I think it's possible but I've never actually seen it done. There was some guy selling normal mem cards with gcsos on (he'd copied it over from a max drive using the gamecube) and he guaranteed that all you needed was an action replay to play backups... but thats (obviously) not the most reliable source in the world.

Thanks for the responses. I've decided to just order the Max Drive Pro. less hassle.

Just got my Max Drive Pro in the mail today, burned Mario Party 7 and had no problems getting it to boot & play, thanks for the great guide!!!

For anyone interested i used the Ritek Mini G04 DVDs and burned using Nero 7 at 1x speed

    *Edit*

4 games later and all work great, one i even burned at 4x and it plays fine. Im so glad i didnt have to mess with my POT settings. I also found out that the GCOS software is great for backing up actual games, all you need is the broadband adapter and a crossover cable.

Ill remove it when the original poster removes his recommendation to download games illegally from BitTorrent.

there is not mention to downloading it illegaly. bittorrent is a legal downloading p2p. you have to own the original in order to download the backup.

im not kidding myself, and you do realize that a law was passed that p2p is legal, as long as you own the original copy, and you do realize that writing that crap in here can cause this entire thread to be shutdown. i was looking out for this thread. i have been numorous threads that have been shut down because of people using them for the wrong purpose.

msickler you're wrong about "a law being passed that p2p is legal if you own the original"... because the illegal thing about p2p is sharing (uploading), so by the nature of p2p by downloading something you own you'll be sharing it with people that don't own it.

Anyway when you try and play a backup the gamecube checks if you have the original or not by asking the wireless lie detector in your brain that comes with the max drive pro

Could anyone please tell me where I can find the Gamecube MDpro software 1.1 version ? The link seems to be dead and I can't get anything displayed in the "cube" window of the max drive PC software. I wish it will make my maxdrive pro working or I'd get busted of 50 bucks

FYI, supermediastore.com has the 10pk Riteks for $7.99 with free ground shipping. Cheapest price I found with shipping.

(Newegg is $4.99, but they charge $4.98 ground shipping for each 10pk)

just click the "Max Drive PRO GCN v1.1" link on the page and it will download.
in other new, i'm getting 5 Ritek Minis, to try out on my softmodded gamecube. If you have trouble putting GCoS on the Max Drive PRO, explain exactly what's the problem and i'll try to help. you need to drag the GCOS(PSO).dol(not exact name) File to the cube part of the Max Drive pro program, it should ask you if you wan't to convert it into memory card format, hit yes. it should do some stuff, if you get any errors, just hit yes yes bla bla. if it shows the file in the Cube part of the program, Congratulations, you've done it, Otherwise, repeat the dragging proccess. attempt to load GCoS On your cube. i've found that sometimes it just wont find it, so take out the MDPro Memory card, and in a swift motion, put it back inside, all while the MDPro is still displaying the hardware error.
