hey, im one of the lucky ones who has a ps3. and i want to connect to wifi. so i did a search and this came up, i folowed your steps perfectly but... every time i try it says "can't retreave IP address. please help ps: but when it scans for wifi connections it finds mine. (so i know its kind of working... lol)
Ok I did everything perfect and my psp finds the connection and everything but when I share my broadband connection it loses connection to the internet any way to fix this?
I'm having the same problem my psp will only work on the open side and the ds on the shared. I've tried all sorts of combinations but nothing seems to work. Any help ?
I don't see any reason this wouldn't work on any wifi connection as long as your links are followed as in this tread. The nintendo connector seems to be fairly strong with in 20 to 25 feet. Not to bad for $35.00 bills Canadian with similar products ranging from $50 to $100 dollars. Two thumbs way up!!! Now if I could figure out how to share the same connection with the ds and psp without having to switch from open (psp) to shared (ds) anyone?
Everytime I try to "update" the driver, a window pops up that says "The software you are installing for this hardware: Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector has not passed Windows logo testing to verify it's combatibility ...........". I was watching your lovely video, but there it says BUFFALO and a bunch of other stuff. What could I have done wrong?
Been meaning to post for a few days but I got the ds and my daughters laptop online using the OP's method. Thanks man.
okay i tried to make my nintendo wi-fi a softap, but the instructions were very vague and I ran into many unique problems, it NEVER connected to the computer so i could never open the auus control center program, I JUST WANNA GET IT BACK TO WORKING WITH JUST THE NINTENDO DS CAN ANYONE help me please??
If you follow the instructions to a "t" you should have no problem. Can you tell me what sort of problem you have ran into? Remember after installing the drivers insert the wifi and windows will install the drivers for you...after finding new hardware.
here's how my ds is set up SSID.....DEFAULT AUTO IP NO IP ADDRESS 192.168.0.2 my nintendo ip is 192.168.0.1 found under internet protocol properties, notice I just changed the last number by going up 1 SUBNET MASK WILL BE FOUND IN THE SAME SPOT MUST BE THE SAME. GATEWAY Same as your nintendo connector (IP)192.168.0.1 LIKE MINE Auto obtain DNS NO Primary DNS Same as Gateway and nintendo connector Secondary DNS 0.0.0.0 Under card settings..... Network OPEN Data Encrytion DISABLED Network name DEFAULT Channel 1 Hope this helps get you back on. WD.
maxcc just uninstall the buffalo drivers , restart, reinsert the usb wifi and when it asks for drivers use the nintendo cd. This will restore it so just teh ds accesses the net.
Hey I could have told him that but why would you be reading this tread when you should have been reading the instructions that came in the box!!!Hmmmm. Anyways good luck either way.
Sorry but I must have mistaken "SHIZ" as something else! Either way you still should follow the instructions...I still can't figure out what the problem would be with installing a disc into the cd rom and letting windows do it for you !! Ta Ta Turtleman. Cheers, WD.
yes I do understand what you guys are saying LOL @ NOT knowing what 'shiz' is i do try to reinstall after restarting but i get an error something about share internet error.
