can you tell me how to make it compatible with nintendo wifi because nobody knows.I have made a thread but nothing.
Use this setup then find your mac address of your wii and ad it to your allowed addresses and you should be away and running. Once you have it installed here's a step by step. Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting Click on Config on the left side. Basic Tab: Network Type:Infrastructure Network Name:default Channel : 1 Encryption Tab: Network Authentication: Open Data Encrption: Disabled Soft AP Tab: Check The Soft AP Mode Check To Enable The ICS Access Control Tab: Access Control Policy: Accept Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of coase you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network. Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to. RTS Threshold: 2347 Fragmentation Threshold: 2347 Preamble Mode: Long Frame Bursting: Disabled 54g Mode: 802.11b only 54g Protection: Auto Use Short Slot Time: Disabled Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab. Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!! Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out. Anytime, WD
Sounds to me like you didn't copy over the other driver or did you have the wifi pluged in? I know stuped ? but I must ask.
wdclean thanks a lot for the help. The asus utility keeps telling me that I do not have a lan card installed and I can't run itany ideas?
The ASUS control center step comes before the driver copy in the instructions; in either case I did try copying it first and it still didn't work. And yeah, the connector was plugged in both times.
Sorry about being so late to get back, have you looked to see if your card is enabled...To find out right click my computer and click on properties, then click on hardware, then device manager, then network adaptors here you should see the buffalo wli-u2-KG54-YB wireless lan adaptor if you don't then it has not been installed correctly. If its there click on it and see if it has been enabled or disabeled ( make sure its enabeled ) see if this solves your problem. If its not there then go back and follow the first few steps to install then follow the steps I posted before and you shouldn't have any problems running what ever you want. Good Luck, WD
what happened at the asus control center step did it prompt you as in the instuctions. After this I would install the file into the system32\driver folder and at this time plug in the wifi and see if windows will do the install.
I understand that wdclean but my liksys wireless g adapter isn't accepting the buffalo drivers or is there any way to force it accept them?thanks
I follow you now my web mail has been all screwed up and I just received your first post as I didn't look at the forum. I just figured you had a nintendo one. Whats wrong with your drivers, you can still set it up the same way as in my set up I'm sure of that.
in my software for the wireless g there are no options to make it soft ap.It has only ad-hoc mode and infastucture(only to connect to an access point).
I'm not to sure if this will work but what I've read it should. I'm thinking your install may be missing info. so go back and remove and here's a link for the products driver and instuctions. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...790190&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper Let me know if this works and if it does just follow my steps and you should be fine. anytime, WD
nothing happened with the drivers you suggested.I think that I must go and buy a nintendo usb wifi adapter.thanks for the help
ok I installed the wireless g from the site you have suggested, thanks.now I will try your settings but I can't see a softap mode yet.
I had some time and did a full blown search on your product and it turns out they don't even make a softtap usb anything, i was hoping there might be some sort of driver that may work that they would have in a similer usb product. So with that in mind your going to have to buy either a nintendo or a similer product. The range on the Nin. isn't bad but I'm sure you might find something a little better for a few dollars more. Not sure were you live but in Canada Nin costs $35 dollars vs. $50 to $100 dollars for something else. Over all I'm happy with it and with these instuctions you'll be able to run all wireless devices though it. Once you have it installed just follow the inst. I'll send to you and everything should work 100%. Sorry we could'nt make it work, keep me informed Anytime, WD
I keep on getting ip address conflicts. I've tried alot, and I can't seem to get it right.. no matter what ip adresses things are, I cant set up the sharing thingy because of the ip adress conflicts!! And I saw that there is a list of 3 things under your lan/high speed internet. There is only 2 in mine - am I missing something? Did I miss a step?
