The modified Buffalo drivers are not in the download. Do you have another way of getting these drivers?

Hello! I bought the Nintendo USB connection today and everything was going smooth up until step 6. When I try to click Apply the error "cannot copy driver to system directory" comes up. I dont have the Broadband connection option so i was wondering if this was the problem. Please help me!

Well I followed, everything that the guide and the video did. Everything was fine until i had to copy the file rt2500usb.sys into the drivers folder because i couldn't find the system32 folder. So then i searched and found it but wasn't sure if i did this step correctly. So i then continued on but got stuck where i click Apply on the ASUS software. The error message " cannot copy driver to system directory" came up. So now I'm stuck not knowing what to do next.

I think you should go back and make sure you do step 5 because you have to overwrite the existing file there. Now that you know where it is. Can't remember but it should ask if you want to replace the existing file.Try this and let me know

This is were you get your drivers, unzip these and you will find the magic...
To do this you need to have this rar file:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S4VLBP9A
or you can get it from here:
    http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/nin_wifi_Fullpack.rar

Sorry for stepin on your toes kcajblue but I really don't think he's got it...

Here's the way you have to set it up

Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting

Click on Config on the left side.

    Basic Tab:

    Network Type:Infrastructure

    Network Name:default

    Channel : 1

    Encryption Tab:

    Network Authentication: Open

    Data Encrption: Disabled

    Soft AP Tab:

    Check The Soft AP Mode

    Check To Enable The ICS

    Access Control Tab:

    Access Control Policy: Accept

Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of course you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network.

Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to.

    RTS Threshold: 2347

    Fragmentation Threshold: 2347

    Preamble Mode: Long

    Frame Bursting: Disabled

    54g Mode: 802.11b only

    54g Protection: Auto

    Use Short Slot Time: Disabled

Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab.

Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!!

Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out.

I see now you have installed the nintendo software go back to step 1 and start again. uninstall the nintendo software and do a search on any remaining folders and delete then do a reboot and start again with the drivers provided in the links.

    WD.

Go into card settings, then config and you should see your connections under available connections in the bottom box. Just click on your available internet connection and drag it to the box over the ics and then check the ics. Before closing this box make sure you click OK. Hope this helps and then just follow the private mail I sent....Good Luck

Sorry for the long wait. Well I did do this and it did ask me to overwrite the previous file. I did this around three times just to make sure I did it right. I don't think this is the problem because I still get the same error message. Also I dont have the Broadband connection in the ASUS software like in the pictures and video. I dont know what to do.
