well ... I searched the whole web for a solution on this problem and now I hope I can find an answer here ^^! First off, I did everything in these tutorials twice!! And I'm completely positive that my PSP and my DS connect to the DS Wifi Connector. So where is the problem, you may ask ^^? Well, there seems to be a sharing problem between the internet-connection and the modified connector. I can't connect to the internet and there is this error on my PSP with "DNS-error" (8041040F). But this was not from the begining, two months ago, I could use this Connector with my PSP, my DS even my Notebook XD! And now after two months of doing nothing with it, it won't work anymore with this error on the screen. I reinstalled and tried it over and over but nothing works anymore. Please, I beg you ... someone help me >_<
the nintendo wifi usb adapter is removed from my computer... i think... we'll heres a video idk if it helps lol the video
Just go back to step 2 and install the eng 2371.zip and follow that up with the next few steps and you should be fine. I know it don't seem like help but it seems you've missed one of the key steps and to go back and do it again will not hurt. So just start with the eng 2371.zip and follow up with steps 3,4,and 5 and you should be good to go. You can find the setup inside the driver pack Modded Drivers Instructions.txt . Once you have this done i'll post the final setup or you can find it back a few pages
i cant install the buffalo driver because it doesnt show when i connect it to the computer it only shows nintendo wifi usb and usb device if theres any way that you can show me where to find the nintendo wifi drive then please help because apparently i didnt remove it but i did
Your not following the Modded Drivers Instructions.txt your letting windows choose for you just put the stuff were it says without windows
well idk heres another video tell me if im doing the same mistake again. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WX5F870L sorry so much videos its the only solution i can think of so you can see what im doing wrong lol
I take it now that the usb connector shows up in the devive manager, click on it and select update drivers and point it to the driver pack thats in the bundle. I think this will solve your problem.
sorry if the videos are annoying we'll i tried what you did but it still shows up as the nintendo wifi usb software... did i follow your directions? grr so confusing lol thanks
Yes update the nintendo usb.... Download this video and it should help you out with a step by step and if this don't work maybe you have a bad connector http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XCSFNK20 Keep me posted and I'll try and reply faster WD.
yeah i think i do have a bad connector can you use anything else besides nintendo wifi usb? i have a belking wifi adapter... can that work lol
Then give your other wifi a try should work fine as this hack is to break the nintendo lock to open it up to be used by other electronics
so... instead of hacking into the nintendo wifi usb adapter... i'd be hacking into the belking network adapter? or would i just use it as a wifi adapter lol
You should be able to use it as is but I'm not really sure. I know that the connection to nintendo is made within the games and not the connector so it should work as it would be an open wifi. Just remember to leave the wifi open and the setup here should work there. Just go into the wifi settings of your connector and it should be fairly simple....go back to the first page of this thread and you can see it there. Also here's the setup I'm using. Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting Click on Config on the left side. Basic Tab: Network Type:Infrastructure Network Name:default Channel : 1 Encryption Tab: Network Authentication: Open Data Encrption: Disabled Soft AP Tab: Check The Soft AP Mode Check To Enable The ICS Access Control Tab: Access Control Policy: Accept Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of course you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network. Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to. RTS Threshold: 2347 Fragmentation Threshold: 2347 Preamble Mode: Long Frame Bursting: Disabled 54g Mode: 802.11b only 54g Protection: Auto Use Short Slot Time: Disabled Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab. Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!! Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out. Good luck, WD.
Go to the Advanced tab, and click "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" This is where the instructions get confusing. What if the Allow other users option isn't there? All I have is an option that leads to the Windows Firewall settings.
