I've left it to carry on with whatever it is dong. It seems very slow and is oly up to 7.4% after 45 mins - so hopefully this will work. Thank you.

    Back again..

I had to stop the computer in the end as it was just too slow and I had to go to work. The computer is a 2 year old Hewlett Packard running Vista. I only use it for music and storing stuff on and as a spare computer really. I have not had chance to get back to trying to solve this problem but would still like to if possible.

I wondered about using another program to rip the DVD to an AFI file which would not lose the audio. The one I have been using - Fast DVD Ripper Pro - appears ok for 'bought' DVDs - it just does not seem to like anything recorded off the TV.

Back again - but I have it sorted!

    DVDFab unfortunately would not work.

Any DVD Converter Pro has worked - well the trial version which only does 3 mins - but the main thing is it works so I'm gonna buy it.

Thanks again for your patience and help.

    xx
