I just burned a movie using Nero, I converted using DivXtoDVD. When I play it back on the computer it works fine, but when I play it using my dvd player some of the picture gets cut off. Is there any reason for this? Is there something else I have to do before I burn the dvd?

I'm pretty much a newbie like yourself, but I've been using Decrypter and DVD Shrink exclusively and never had a movie come up short. With Shrink, it will be reduced in size to make the file fit the DVD blank.
Then it can be programed so that Decrypter pops up and burns it. It really couldn't be easier.
The movies I've burned have all come out beautiful.
I also have Nero, but find it complicated by comparison. I've been burning CDs for years with Nero, but just don't understand the changes that I seem to have to go through to use it for DVD.

    1) Did this happen all toward the end of the movie, or spread out in between?
    2) Did you compress the movie?

    hi

sounds like a setting in DivXtoDVD for say PAL or NTSC ?

    or 16:9 or 4:3

    or framerate 25,000 or 23,000

    etc etc... ????

do the files load to dvd shrink you made from DivXtoDVD for testing?

the file you put in DivXtoDVD what was it?

I tried converting it and burning it with dvdsanta again, same thing happened. Part of the screen gets cut off,I tried using DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW all have had the same problem. I can't seem to find any other people that are having this problem.
