two sound cards

    Hey guys, i have an onboard soundcard and a seperate 5.1 sound card. Is there anyways i can run both at the same time? or is it one at a time only?

    you can run both at the same time, but with separate applications usually. However, I know there is a plugin for winamp that will play to multiple sound cards, so if you use winamp give that a try.

    I've been using 2 soundcards for ages. Two things to note:

    1) Go to Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices, click on the Audio tab, and uncheck the Use Only Default Devices box.
    2) Set the default device for whatever you want standard sound to go through (windows noises etc) as most software doesn't give you a choice :( Luckily Winamp does :)
