@ xboxdevil you are totally missing the point of this thread, like i said,i am paying for a service from which i am not happy with, i have every right to complain as i am not getting the speeds for which i am paying good money for if i go into mac'donalds, and ask for a plain big mac with no sauce etc,and i get one with gerkins covered with tomato sauce,.....what i am supposed to do....??? be happy with the food i have been given, after all, there are starving people in africa with nothing???,so i should be grateful and eat it,even though i dont like it what would you do???,i bet your ass you would take it back and ask for a replacement or your money back i know what i would do,i work damn hard for the money in my pocket, and expect good value for what i pay for let this be the end of it
if i got a mcdonalds burger with sauce when i asked for one without sauce i would take it back and get what i order.money doesnt come easy.if i had order 10000 burgers and one of them had sauce when i ordered no sauce i wouldnt care.if i had enough money to get satellite broadband or cable i wouldnt complain if it wasnt as fast as everyone elses in the world.i'd just be happy that i've got a fast connection and that i could afford it.do you pay for everything you download or are you downloading pirated material.you can still get movies,mp3s,pictures ,games, software for free so dont complain.i didnt even have a computer until march lastyear.
@ xboxdevil It sucks for you that you are unable to get a fast connection but don't try to make other users feel bad because they can enjoy a service you can't. This thread is about Hursty who signed up for an internet service and he isn't getting what he paid for. He has every right to complain. Other people in the same situation would do the same thing.
@Lethal_B weazel200 just signed up for a months trial on newsgroups, cost me £7 got maximum speeds now, even though its costing me more, but happy @xboxdevil, what i do with my bandwidth has got bugger all to do you with you,i am grateful for what i have got,and bad luck you probably havent had the same privledges as me,but thats not my fault,so dont take your anger and resentments on others who are more fortunate than yourself i dont know why you starting having a go in the first place,as i am perfectly in my rights to complain if this carries on,i will report this to the mods [bold]myself[/bold],and get it closed

Just did a speed test on mine, got 1.6mb on a 2.2mb line. Bt broadband with a thompson USB modem. That site said I had a "great" connection speed! Mildly amusing.
Seriously, not to boast or anything, but just to show how much the British AD memvers here are being ripped off by their ISP's, i got hooked up by my new ISP on friday, i pay €45 (£30.29) for a 6400 Kbit/s download and 880 Kbit/s upload connection, and the speeds never drop under 6300 down and 780 up...
He is dutch .....man, you dutch dudes got just about everything.... The Red Light District, The Hot-Boxed Cafes, and the fast internet! But over here Daniel_G, you can get 8mb line unlimited for £29.99. My line is AOL 1.1mB and I average a 111kb/s download rate which I am content with. Sometimes I feel that the Americans get the best deals (which they do!, but I daren't complain when I see the poor Ozzies capped with a 400mb monthly download limit!! Life's a Bitch, Eh guys?
@the kingo7 you miss me how sweet. as for internet over here in australia we get unlimited access and downloads on dial up for $24 a month.broadband is a bit dearer its about $40-50 a month with unlimited access.if anyone out there has a problem with their broadband you can go pickup a 56k modem for around $20 and go back to dial up.Im sure you will notice the speed difference.im hoping to get myself a new computer soon with a 56k modem at least it will be faster than what I've got.
