People need to realize that this change is happening and happening fast, what works today may not be working tomorrow, As I said in countless outher threads, they only you can do with your box is to scan, scan and guess what? scan. Remove any splitters, connect your box to the cable directly and scan on your provider, thats it, thats all you can do.

You will be doing this from here on in until the plug is pulled in your area, creating post after post everytime you loose a chan or something moves freq, the answer is still the same, reset and scan, this thread we will try to give you up to date info on each area as it happens,

No, there is no fix and if there was, do you think the would release a fix for your old SV or Euro's or any of the last cable boxs realised etc that you have? far from it, it would be a new box such as the SV6 currently in Ireland, and no that wont work in the UK either currently

People need to put a N3 fix on the back burner and start looking at immediate options such as SAT etc in the interim for their TV, but the cable box in its current form is dead and folk need to move on

 

No mention of any South West towns, any reason ? and does N3 only affect cable supplies will sat feeds be free from interruptions !! sorry if this sounds a dumb question but am new to this

 

Barking & Dagenham / Essex - Received new card about 3 weeks ago then received a reminder letter about a week ago. As of Tuesday 9th March lost all sports, movie's and most other XL package channels. What's left so far is the Freeview channels + Living, Comedy central, Alibi, Watch and a couple of others. Interestingly the Security Message Channel that used to appear waring you about piracy and potential arrest, etc has been replaced with a message about losing channels and how yo can subcribe to VM 'no questions asked' to receive all those channels you will miss. Oh well..

 

It was a firmware update that was needed to get Glasgow back for me!
My fault rushing to conclusions - soz folks!

I was running version 1.07 latest is v1.12.
Any Starview users without a signal thats why - upgrade to the latest and it should be ok!

Downgrading the firmware to the original brought all the freeview channels back - dunno why as Mickah said it shouldnt have made any difference!

 

yes i updated my sv4 & viola all channels av returned .. mibee only for a wee while but heho

 

did you re-scan after installing the new update? V1.12 was brought out to fix glitchs in the SV and to improve scanning, but you will be doing this from here on in

If you have any doubt about whether your channels have definitely gone or not, do a full factory reset and scan then have a look through what channels you have and see if you have the updated security warning message about loosing your channels.
What has happened to me is ALL my 'premium' channels are gone plus most other non Freeview channels AND I have the new security warning message.

I must have scanned and reset to factory about 30 times trying various combos of cable out splitter on amplifier off mains off on etc

I new i needed a firmware update and had been toying with it but am always reluctant to do it just in caseof a power glitch and it just might - just the same as I would be reticent to do it on a pc if all was well.

Last resort but it worked first time and all channels came back.

From Derby area. Have the updated software for starview 4 (1.12 something like that) and none of the movies / music / asian . few others channels are working. I have no splitters and its a direct feed. Rescanned a few times across different networks and the Movies are not appearing. The sports are working for now.

 

the must be changing in your area, the Asian, movies etc are the first to go by some accounts

 

Stratford, East London here. all Slysports excluding slysports news and all sly movie channels gone. Just a few channels left now. I guess Negra3 is here. Received card a couple of weeks back. The end nigh....any hope in the horizon?
