I have recently upgraded from XP to XP Pro and since this has been done I am unable to open some pictures that I have saved from the net onto my pc. I get a mesage saying that windows is unable to open the file, adobe will not open it either. Any ideas?

I am not sure as to what u would call it as such. When I open my pictures where its saved it gives the file name as 516CTOTKBAL,_SS500_ does that help?

look at the properties of the files as all files have extensions as in doc, txt, pdf, jpeg, bmp & whatever.

In the properties its listed as a SS500 file! It asked me what program I would like to open the picture so I tried IE & it seems to have now says that 3 (of the six pic's) now seem also to be called HTML documents but I am still unable to open them with my expressit program.
