unable to see video for Xvid-Dvl but audio is there

    when i open the movie with windows media player, the status bar shows error downloading codec. I could only hear the audio but no video(only sounds no picture).
    I cant open the movie with virtualdub.

    Can somebody please please help me out to be able to see the video? I really need help!! Thanks alot for any help given!! Really appreciate it

    Youre lacking a video codec to decode the movie.

    Run the movie through GSPOT and the program will tell you which codec you need.

    You most likely have an xvid encoded movie judging by the name of the file. Though you really shouldnt install any codecs just by the name of the movie.(Kind of like that never judge a book by its cover thing)
    When you run your movie through GSPOT and get a FourCC of XVID then you could either:

    Download an xvid codec
    or
    Download FFDSHOW.

    Personally Id go with FFDSHOW.
