I found ambiguous answers to this question in other threads. My Nero 7 ultra with showtime won't play a single dvd movie I own. Damn, and I left other video software that I never had a day of trouble out of. I emailed Nero support after being cut off twice from their phone tech support. Of course, my credit card was charged twice as well. LOL. I am expected a even more ambiguous reponse in probably 2-3 days from them. So, in the meantime, do I need to wait for an update patch or what?
If you post a Nero history log, it will help us sort things out Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory
@Pesci If you haven't already might want to try a clean install of Nero and/or go back a version or 2. Uninstall Nero - run the clean tool. You can find 7.7.5.1 and below here at aD - link. Which o/s are you running - XP or Vista? There always Windows Media Player to them
Thanks for the reply. I am running Windows XP Pro sp2 Its good timing for this question apparently. I just reformatted my c drive three days ago and put Nero back on. I did not revert to an earlier version. I simply reinstalled the version I paid for.
I kinda thought that was the version you were using just from your post (wait for update patch) just wanted to make sure. If your up for go back a version to 7.5.9.0. Uninstall - run the clean tool. Reboot - then I'd run a registry cleaner like the free ccleaner. Use the issues and cleaner options. Install 7.5.9.0 and see if that does the trick.
I actually ended up waiting for Nero's response. They directed me to their website and there is actually an update to my version of nero. The update seemed to work and now I am playing DVD movies!
What did you do to get nero to respond? Have your lawyer call? They have a bad reputation for help. You were lucky.
I have used the following method twice with Nero and each time gotten a response anywhere from 3-5 days later: Go to Nero Support, Email, and fill out the form
