hey all, whilst trying to delete a virus i had on my computer i was trying a few different tools...one of which was 'Hijack This', which ended up deleting some of the files from the Norton registry.

Norton now doesn't function properly and every 20-30 seconds a message flashes up saying that my virus protection is turned off. It then disappears without staying up for a second.

When opening up Norton it says something about a TAMPERED CODE and it CANT BE TURNED ON...but to uninstall Norton, (which is what it tells you to do), it needs to be on and functional...

...with a tampered code i cannot uninstall Norton. But to fix the problem i need the code un-tampered...so I'm going round in one big circle.

i have tried uninstalling from the control panel, but i still cant remove Norton.

    What shall i do???
