I bought it in Trinidad and Tobago, but I want to use a data sim on it and only the other network offers that data sim...

I also have a 6230 from Digicel, which I thought needed unlocking, but just when I got the code to unlock, I realised that Digicel did not lock the phone.

Also make sure it's locked

 

I bought it April 2006.
And yes I'm sure that it is locked...

 

honestiee I bought the 6230 the second day digicel started to sell their phones in Trinidad and Tobago. And they were locking all their phones so that customers could not put the other network (TSTT) sim car in their phones.

 

Fine. You will need a TSTT Sim to do this.
