This phone will need to be directly unlocked and flashed with Nokia OEM firmware using equipment. It has what is called a time tank software and normal unlocking codes do not disable this. In other words, if it were unlocked by code and you had 10 units left but you also had a T-Mobile, AT&T sim in and had 150 minutes on either of them, the phone would only work until the 10 units were used up meaning you would need to buy more units just to keep up with the minutes you have on a sim card. Getting the phone flashed and unlocked would most likely cost more than what you have in the phone. Normal cost is around $30 to $50
