Nevermind guys but thanks anyway, i figured it out. i just left the simcard in and typed it in during regular phone opperation.

I did some looking around and saw that as of June 2005 the Nokia 6230 was no longer able to be unlocked but it didn't say why. Here is the link, notice the asterisk next to the 6230. http://www.macsat.com/cell_eng.php I was hoping someone knows why and if there is another way to unlock, as I have a 6230 that I would like to unlock. BTW I'm in the US if it makes a difference. Also, I was going to try cyber but I don't know how to tell which DCT (3 or 4) or ASIC (2 or 7) I have. Good help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

sound like you have entered more than 5 wrong codes, is this the case?

 

yeah i tried all the codes i was given, is that bad ?

 

you only get 5 tries, then you have to unlock the fone with a cable unlock at your local shop

and yes, unlocking it, unlocks to all, if it doesn't unlock it will still work also with cingular.
