Unlock Nokia 6230

Hey everyone, looks like a real useful service being provided here!

I have a Nokia 6230 phone from UK on Orange network that I want to use in Canada, once I unlock it, will it work on any gsm network?!

I'm completely new to unlocking, so just a quick question if you don't mind, i see sometimes there are several codes made, are we just supposed to try all and see if one works?

Also, I don't have a sim card with any service here yet as I was waiting to unlock the phone first, should I go out and get one first before even being able to do anything?

I have a nokia 6230 which when u switch it on, it says "phone restricted" can anyone help me with it, It was on Orange UK but I want to use an O2 sim in it. the EMEI no. is 355666005586028. thanks

If your taking your 6230 over to Canada they work on 1900 Hz, your 6230 is compatible as it is tri-band but if you use a UK operator sim you will basically be roaming on the canadian network. It is cheaper to get a PAYT once your there (if staying for any lenght of time.

HI, Thanks for the unlocking codes, but unfortunately for me, I found one of those websites where they show you how to find the unlocking codes, so I tried them, so because I have done too many attempts, I keep getting the message...can't undo restriction.
Thanks for your help though.
I need to ask you for help with my 11 year old nephews 6230, He got it off ebay, and he can't do anything with it, cos it keeps asking for the security number, he's emailed the seller but the number they have given him doesn't work, have tried the factory setting number as well, it's a long shot but do you know how to get it too work or how much a shop would charge??

I have a nokia 6230 with Cingular USA.
My IMEI number is 353372004415903

I called cingular for unlocking and they gave me this unlock code
490357524016130

I tried entering that after putting in a non-cingular sim card and it didnt work, also tried it using #pw+490357524016130+7# but it didnt work 3 attempts done so far

Please help me find the right unlock code.

her all, i have 6230 (nokia), when i entering a codes for open my sim it's dident do anything, after the last symbol it's need to say some thing like error or good, but no thing...and itry to click on call button but it try to do emergency calling, so i cant enter a codes
