unlocking blackberry 9520

    Hi,i have a blackberry 9520 storm 2 phone,and i want to pass this onto my son whom has a different network supplier.I am vodafone and he his virgin media.I do know he cant use the email service on the phone,but can this phone be unlocked so he can use the phone for general phone calls and texting once his sim card is installed.(if we can get it unlocked).
