I'm thinking of updating to vista but I was wondering it these means I will lose everything on my HD if I don't back it up. I don't have an extra place to store nearly 110 gigs worth of stuff.

How do you plan on updating?

With an upgrade disc, or a full new install? I have never personally used an upgrade disc, but I thought they were supposed to import all your old stuff.

Thats why its always handy to have a large 2nd harddrive, to store all your stuff on.

When you install vista as upgrade vista will create windows old folder. In that folder is everything from your old OS.
