upgrading an old computer

    My dad has a pcg-993l sont notebook and it's very slow.

    I went to crucial.com to see how many slots were avalaible and what type of ram to buy but on his conputer it won't scan.

    My question:in a pcgl-993l sony notebook what ram do you buy and how many slots are avalible whEn you first buy it?
