ok dj try another computer to unlock the hdd also look for lockhd on xbox scene i think that may help you

and papa you cant use that hdd unless it is unlocked and you lock it yourself, because if it is locked and you dont get the pswd to unlok it you asically have a very expensive paper weight :)

I softmodded my 1.6 Xbox just fine. Works like a champ. I followed ALL the steps. When I tried putting the new HDD in the Xbox, It gives me the ol' FRAG light.

The original HDD works like a champ, but when I put in the Maxtor 250Gig, it doesn't work. Any ideas?

I have also tried to make a direct copy. This didn't work, either. The only thing that I can come up with is that the xbhdm is not using the same lock code (which I verify when I lock the original and the new HDD). I tell it to lock the disk with the eeprom file thingie that is burned on the CD; It locks the original with this file, but when I try the same process on the new HDD it gets the code from who knows where (different set of numbers).

No matter how many times I lock the original HDD, it uses the same code (as it should) and it runs my dashboards just fine. The box just doesn't want to accept this new HDD.

Any ideas? Do you need more info?

I think i have the exact problem the EEPROM.bin that we trasfer via FTP to work with locking HD is'nt what my Stock Epprom says it is , thus i get error 6 ... P.S. This POS HD is 2 secs from getting fired out the fuking window .. 4 hrs trying to fix this chit .. i'm losing my Sanity .

ummm all i can think of is look for a prgm that can give you the correct eeprom also there might be an eeprombackup.bin file this is the one you want if that doesnt work try the pswd you get from the setup menu in the softmod make sure you TRIPLE CHECK it though or you could end up with a paper weight :)

OK i figuerd out my problem and its MUCH more safer and effective than using your computer and riskin the whole paper wight thing.

Im not sure if I should Make a utorial or not. I Upgraded the hard drive of a softmoddded XBOX using My Chipped XBOX.
    ---tems needed---
    1) A XBOX with a Mod Chip
    2) A unmodded XBOx
    3) Action replay or a usb memcard (that you made yourself)
    4) A Blank Hard drive
    5) Exploits For a Softmod ( i use some version of Krayzie (the best softmod exploits ive ever seen)And of course splintercell, or mechassault( iVe only used mech and SC b4)

So yea its like softmod but u need a chipped xbox to mod the other so itll b great if you klnow someone with a chipped XBOX
if n e one wants me to post a tutorial please let me know

OK, I figured it out , Needed the eeprom from the UDATA Folder not Config-magic .. Config-magic was giving me the wrong eeprom.

P.S. DjRaise .. Get the eeprom from the UDATA Folder . FTP E:/ Drive to your desktop and open the UDATA Folder, Look for the eeprom, or Search for it . Then put the eeprom in the xhdm/eeprom folder and make the Win.bat.ISO

I have a question about how to set up the xbox and computer for xboxhdm. I have my xbox opened and the only thing that is unplugged is the IDE cable for the DVD drive. I start my computer and then I stop it before it goes looking for the harddrives. I can set my computer BIOS to boot from the CD drive and then thats all I do. Then I restart my computer and pause it again before it looks. I then start my xbox and wait for it to load up. I have error 13 so it flashes red and green. I then hook up the computers IDE cable to the Xbox one as fast as I can. Now i press space and the the computer looks and all i get is a screen looking for DHCP. What is that? It doesn't find anything and says no boot filename found or something. What the heck am I doing wrong bcause i have tried like 3 times and it doesn't work at all. I have my cd and everything in the cd drive.

Hi gang, i just upped my HD to a 40gig using this tutorial. Everything went smooth and I copied both my C: and E: to the linux folder as instructed.

After i followed those steps, i booted my xbox and it came to the MS dashboard, and i couldnt read any burned CDs etc. Basically I lost my softmod. I had to re-softmod my xbox and now it works fine, but when i FTP to my xbox, the C: is empty. I am totally new to all this but that seems odd to me? is it? Anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks

    ok here we go

[bold]GAMER506[/bold] - ok the hdd your talking about is it the stock hdd or a retail hdd?
[bold]retail hdd[/bold] - you should hook the hdd up to your computer totally take it out of your xbox and hook it up to the pc, also you want to leave the power cable unhooked until you get to the first options screen from the cd. you dont have to pause your computer just let it boot the cd and plug in the hdd and go from there also you only have to do this when you are locking and unlocking the hdd if your computer says the hdd cannot be locked or unlocked, because of safety procedures (wont say that part) :)
[bold]stock hdd[/bold] - you dont have to hook it up to your computer just run the softmod with 007, mechassault, and i forget the other one. get the files, backup the eeprom, ftp and put that on the cd then go to my retail hdd part.

[bold]GRAYFOX12[/bold] - look a few pages ago i posted a link to a hdd locking and unlocking info site, also make sure your using the right eeprom. try looking for an eeprombackup.bin thats the one i had to use. you have to rename it to eeprom.bin though b4 you put it on the cd.

[bold]GAMER506[/bold] - you need a burning tool like nero or roxio then just double click it and follow the directions

[bold]MRDEES[/bold] - i dont remember my c being empty it might have been just depends on what softmod you used i guess. you should be able to just ftp the c drive to the xbox from your computer or the cd if you deleted it already :) that might work, but im curious what did you have on the c drive that you might need now? if the softmod is working you should have the e drive and that is what you should be using since there is like a mere gig or 2 on the c drive. if you mean that there is stuff on the c drive and you just cant see it through the ftp then you might want to see if there are any restrictions on it, (like with windows you can show or hide system of hidden files) you might have that happening on the c drive check it out. play around with the softmod for a bit see what you get

hope this helps you all and have fun modding ttyl

Ok, I think my problem is that I am grabbing the wrong EEPROM as my backup. I went into EvoX and ran the backup app, then it says something like

[bold]"your backup can be found at E:\backup\000000\8125582\backup. Your backup will be found at E:\backup\eeprom after you softmod"[/bold]

THats not the exact msg but close enough. I'm unsure why it is giving me 2 locations. My Xbox is already softmodded using AID/SID 3.0. When I check E:\backup\eeprom the "eeprom" folder doesnt even exist. I am lost on this, and have already spent about 3-4 hours and cant seem to get it right. I really think it comes down to me grabbing the wrong EEPROM version. Any ideas? Anyone?

    Thanks :)

I have had nothing but a headache trying to upgrade the hard drive, from frozen drives, to unlocking and locking... I think i have seen this question before but i dont think any of the answers worked for me.

i have a compatible drive 120gb seagate. When i follow the tut i make it through no problems or errors, when i lock the drive it says secuirty enabled no, but when i reboot and check it says yes.

When i go to boot the drive in the xbox i just get a call for customer service screen, doesnt make sense if im getting no errors why wouldnt it work? I have been banging my head against the wall, I dont know how to tell what error code it is, it just blink red and green non stop. Can anyone help me?
