I have an EI Systems 4215c laptop and I want to upgrade it. I've ordered 2 1GB's of memory which I plan on a PC shop to install it for me but my question is this, will it make much difference to the everyday running of my comp?

    http://www.pcchecker.co.uk/computers_out-Of-Stock.asp?man=EI Systems&model=4215C#

Those are all the specs I could find on what i'm using. I mainly use my comp for downloading and watching movies but I also want to be able to play Sims2 on it. I have Sims2 and about 7 or 8 expansion packs for it.

I know my graphics card is shared and my processor speed isn't exactly top of the line but i'm hoping that with 2GB of RAM that it should be quick if i'm only doing 1 thing at a time. Such as playing Sims2 without any other progs running.

Also, will the additional memory sticks use more power? I only ask because I use a wireless mouse via USB and a 250gb WD Passport via USB. The WD I use about 2 hours a day to transfer movies and what not.

I'm using Vista Home Basic and at the moment all I have is 500mb Ram installed and here are my Vista stats.

    Processor Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 530 @ 1.73GHz (3.9)

The 2.2 Score is based on "Desktop performance for Windows Aero"
Just two days ago that rating was at 2.9, what could have changed it?

I know i've asked alot guys but i'm in need of help and i'd really appreciate any advice/tips that can be offered. Thanks!

It'll help, but The sims 2 will still run like ass because your CPU is slow and you don't have a decent graphics card. Unfortunately the only way to solve that is a better PC, you can't upgrade the graphics cards etc. in laptops like you can desktops.

Thanks for replying, would have helped too if you knew what you were talking about.

Added only 1GB of memory for a total of 1.49 and Sims2 + the 7 expansion packs for it are working like a dream. Super fast and no problems.
