Ok, I got the blue screen error message again. Here is all the important stuff in full- DRIVER_IRQL_IS_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Technical Information *** STOP 0x000000D1 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xFC53DC46) *** processor.sys - Address FC53DC46 base at FC53C000, Datestamp 41107b32 Can anyone help me based on this error message
1) Download and install the Debugging Tools from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx) 2) Download and install this debugwiz (http://www.d-a-l.com/help/attachment.php?attachmentid=127) You'll have to register to do this. It's free. 3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file. Should be in C:\Windows 4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.
dolphin2, I'll do what you said and attatch the document once I've done it. sammorris, I was thinking it might be something to do with my drivers. But is there any way I can figure out which driver it is without taking my computer apart, i.e. is there any sort of program that'll scan my drivers and tel me is there's any issues with them.
If I were you, since drivers are only software, reinstall each one in turn, start with graphics and sound, then anything external like a USB attachment, and then finally perhaps peripherals (Keyboard, mouse etc.) - might sound odd but my old 98 computer once repeatedly crashed because of a malconfigured keyboard driver!
Ok, here's a link to the uploaded text file- http://fileshare.variousstuff.net/files/300247946/debuglog.txt

Right, it pretty much is a driver issue.... Try reinstalling/updating all your drivers until the problem goes away...
Does the Windows CD that you have include SP2? If not, you'll need to slipstream the SP with your current Windows CD to fix this. Let me know if you need directions on this. If it includes SP2, the put the CD in the tray. Exit out of the Autorun screen. Go to Start > Run. Type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes). Note there is a space between the sfc and /. Post back the results.
