as indochine said, get rid of your email. we can help you here. its nots ur USB driver that need upgrading, its the dvd writer driver. what is the make of your external dvd writer? go to its manufacture's website and downlaod the drivers for it from there.
Ok ive gone to almost every website looking for an anwser to my problem well heres my problem oh before i begin my computers an emachines its one year old my usb port will not read my external dvd burner whats really weird is that it will read printers and joysticks but it wont read ipods mp3s external hard drives the thing i want it to do most is burn dvds so i can play my backed up ps2 games. well let me tell yall what it does. is that when i plug it in it says usb idocon or something like that then it says the drivers for this device have not yet been installed code 28 so i click install and it says savee somes files then it says inf invalid and stops and closes. so then i was thinking maybe its The Usb Driver Needs to be updated But my Drivers Are 2.0 which is the most up to date right now so i went to computer managment and on computer managment i clickd usb and it shows the usbs and under the usb it says usb mass storage device and it shows a ? Mark so i click update and it says updates can not be applied So Can Someone Please Help Me i really want to Burn dvds
You didn't delete your email post! You just quoted yourself and removed the email address from the quote! EDIT your first post. Also did you read REAMs post.
deud i know its my usbs because my external dvd burner is a plug and play and it still doesnt work and my usb flashdrive doesnt work either so both are plug and play. and i went under computer managment and it shows Stop using any USB devices (such as a printer or Web cam) except the mouse and keyboard. In the details pane, click the plus sign to the left of Other devices. Then, under Other devices right-click Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, and then click Update Driver. so when i go there it shows a question mark under usb mass storage device and it says inf invalid
ok...well thanks for not taking 5 mins do what i asked.... now have you tried to use the dvd writer on a different usb port?
Ive Tried every usb port on my computer and every usb port with my brand new usb memory stick so i no its my usbs not my dvd writer
Yes how many times have i told yall ive tried every single usb on my computer but still no luck ii wont work and either will my ipod
uninstall the usb ports in device manager & restart windows to let it find new hardware & install it's drivers. do not plug in the burner til that is done. what is the chipset of the motherboard as in via, sis, amd or intel? what windows are you using? do you have usb2?
start the computer without the usb device, connect it then restart the computer to see if it finds the usb device properly. i have to do that on some customers' computers when using my external laptop drive.
I Tried that it detects it but says the drivers for this device are not installed so i install it says inf invalid unable to install drivers then on the right side of my screen it says a problem occurred when installing this device your hardware may not work correctly then in device manager it shows usb reader with a ? mark
