    Unsubscribed because this argument isn't worth my time....it's a shame we have to be petty.

    @ZoSoIV

    This is NOT a personal attack at you in any way, I just used your thread as an example...there are many members, including Newbies who are doing the same thing...it's only an opinion that I hold so if you think you are using it correctly then far be it for me to say otherwise.

    @Varnull,

    No use stocking up on any further popcorn for as far as I am concerned the matter is now a non event, I have made my thoughts quite clear.

    I certainly don't agree with your view of using the quote feature, being a bad habit. I just don't understand your thought process.

    It is useful when replying to a specific question granted.. But some times it gets so that there are 15 posts embedded in it, and then it's just plain stupid..

    just an aside.. aren't you windows kids glad you don't have to wade through things like this looking for information??

    They also included the previous posts in the answers (if you can be bothered trying to read any of it)

    This is just what I am referring to, you have added my post as a "quote" and now I have added your post as a "quote"...now's it's a long space wasting post!!

    Now if somebody feels the urge to come along and "further" the "quote" when will it end and as I said, whats the point.

    And to think I almost missed this by going to bed early! It's going to get quite messy as he pulls up a chair next to varnull for the fireworks! Hiccup!

    In this case I started with a quote to point out who I was talking to, in case someone hit the post button before me. I hate it when I type something, hit post and find someone else beat me - then I have to go back and edit because now my words mean nothing in the context of the new topic.

    not on my watch, i spent too long ridding this place of crap/pointless/page wasting threads such as the bitch thread.

    Anyways, to conclude, a quote is very helpful when used correctly, but is like a birds eye chili pepper in the eye when used badly, as is colour and bold/italic/dead sea scroll text used when not needed.
    'fraid there will always be those who can't use any feature or function properly, just as there will always be those who deliberately misuse such features, Hey ho, only at Afterdawn.

    edit- with people who simple-mindedly use (or mis-use) said features i shall just do what i always did with all the pointless lengthy safety valve posts/threads we had before ie the bitch thread, old timer's thread (saying hello & goodbye every 2 minutes, what the hell was that all about)... i'll just ignore them
