Don't know whether its too late or not but if you are wanting shareware programs and more importantly easy to use programs to shrink and animate your own userbars use these two; http://www.irfanview.com/ Shrinks your image to whatever size you want. (Pixels, mm etc etc) http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ To animate pretty much anything you want. Assuming you've used irfanviews resize image option with The Gimp it can be pretty daunting to use therefore to make it easier all you really need to do (for animated userbars) is file, open and select one of your downloaded userbars, next click on file in the window where your userbar appeared and click on add layer, repeat this process for everyone of them that you want, now in the same window click save and type what you want to save as and then change the file type to GIF, Next when it asks you whether you want to save as flattened image or animation click animation, then it will display a number in milliseconds I changed mine to 2000 I think, Save and jobs a gud 'un (please note that you can't view the animation in Gimp you will have to open up with something like windows picture viewer). Not trying to criticise anyone with the steps being too simple its just that if someone who doesn't know alot reads this I want them to be able to follow also. PS I love the userbars idea cheers
I have a big reqeust if anyones up for it. I'd like a Zone Alarm Pro user one and a AVG user one. Also, if someone could make me a "Norton HATER" one i'd like that

thanx for the compliments.. i was messing around in gimp.. did this.. i dont know yet how to slow down the animation in that yet.. or if i even can.. but if you like it.. go for it.. i just ask that you do the image hosting on your own.. i may move it later on..
i'm on this alcohol trip right now.. and we throw in homer simpson and everybody's favorite girl.. adriana lima homer's favorite drink: i know somebody that is sick.. i'm just looking for ideas now
@ thelox all you need to do is merge all the layers you want as the background into one, then on the layers window click the button that shows a chain next to your background layer (this keeps it locked in on animation), add a new layer such as your cross, Save it as a .GIF and select animation then a number comes up asking what speed you want the animation at, change this to whatever figure you see fit. Also note this only changes unspecified animation amounts, what you need to do when you have just done them as two seperate frames (true animation) you need to select the layer (on the layer window), on the actual design your working on right click and select filters then animation, optimize difference and then exit your old window when the new window appears, right click on where it states '(100ms)', edit layer attributes and then just maually replace the 100 with whatever number you see fit. And then it will change to something like this; <<<<<<<COPYRIGHT OF THELOX714>>>>>>>
Actually Alien13, that's a pretty clean and appropriate user bar. I'd use it if I were a member of your and DVDBack's forums (which insidently, I might actually be, but don't remember :Þ). Nice userbars everyone, they are all very colorful, graphic, and more importantly, of a decent size. Although, I would like to see some that weren't so long, but just enough to have like 4 of them fill up a whole row. Since most people are using 1024x768 for their PCs, it should be about 150 or so to include the rest of the site width as well. If they already do use that length, then I guess that's it then. Keep up the work everybody!
Thanks Rikoshay. I made it again because of its length but im not sure how it looks....? What does everyone else use in size?
Alien, 350 x 19 is the norm, and the only size allowed at userbars.co.uk Enjoy BTW, do we need an afterdark userbar? what pic should i use?
