Every time I open Nero Burning Rom it creates "user images" on my desktop. This consists of a small file containing random smiley faces and expressions. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make Nero stop creating these as it is an inconvenience to delete these every time I open the Rom.

Sounds like something has attached itself to Nero and when you open it you get random acts of kindnesses. Bummer! I thought I had heard everything about Nero problems.

Yeah klemperal - sounds like a virus. But I don't think it's a random act of kindness :0) Though the virus developer may think otherwise...

Sounds like it's time to try and disinfect the pc.

Here's some steps to get you on your way:
Make sure your anti virus is up to date on the virus definitions. Run a scan with it.
    Next run adaware & spybot.
Next run ccleaner - use the issues and cleaner options.
Next run trend micro's house call.
    All are free
Then run HiJack This and post the log in the virus section of aD. Good members there that can help you.

Here's 2 links for the above programs:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/292257 (this link is great - good tips on keeping the pc clean)

    Forum of aD for viruses:

editted to add: every time you run an infected file like Nero most viruses will keep spreading and attaching to other programs. So time to start cleaning up.

    Not a problem klemperal
Best bet is start 'cleaning' before you use this pc for things like Nero and all. Clean asap.

The virus section at aD should help you out too.

Keep us posted on the outcome!

alright. I got AVG free virus protection, adaware, spybot and ccleaner. I ran all all these things and fixed/deleted what was necessary. The problem was using house call because my internet goes down when I try to delete a certain spyware/virus. Another problem I'm having is with high jack. Apparently my dll files are screwed up so I can't analyze using the program. Should I just back up what I want to keep and reinstall windows? The problem I have with doing this, besides it being a pain, is how would I be sure that what I keep isn't infected in one way shape or form? Anyway, let me know what you think.

It would be best to clean the pc instead of reformatting 1st. Cause your right backing up the files - some may be infected.

Sounds like you got a bunch of problems there. On now we're getting out of my league.

So start a thread in the virus section of aD (link above) giving the details of what's happening w/ HouseCall - like the name(s) of the viruses it found and what happens when you run HiJack This.
They're more knowledgeable in this area to get your pc sorted out.

Hopefully you'll be back in normal in no time.
