I wanted tEChniiQue for my user name. Music related. I made a cd in 2001 and that was my stage name. The I tried just tECh but it was taken. So I came up with my current.
I wanted kokomo but that was already taken :-( "Kokomo" is my very favorite song of all times... whenever I listen to it its rhythm applacates me! Good ol' Beach Boys rule!
it's also a crappy town an hour away from me in Indiana. were they actually singing about that town or is there another kokomo somewhere?
I have no idea where my name comes from...just came up with it one day. maybe i liked it cuz it sounds offensive
I have used MovieDud for everything. I have always been involved with Home Theaters and even installing several for family and friends. My Dvd collection is around 750, Laserdiscs 40. I really don't use the Laserdisc at all, yet I have it with a pretty cool collection. I know MovieDud is spelled with an e but then that wouldn't be different and I like being unique! Everyone typically calls me that the MovieDud!
Hmmm very interesting MovieDud. Whenever I have seen ur name i thought the last part was actually intended to be DUD and not DUDE. wow how one little letter can change the meaning of a word completely.
thanks skidme, It is very interesting the read throughout this post and see the variety of names, the origins, and the uniqueness! Glad I'm a part of ad and meeting a lot of neat individuals.
back on topic, i did a search for this thread, but did not find it i guess, so i had started one up but was told it was open.....\ so here is mine gear79 = gear, because i am a professional automotive technician by trade and hobby, plus, most of my friends call me a gearhead or a gearnut, so i adopted the nick, and 79 is the year of my once prized 1979 Pontiac Trans Am....
I got the nickname mort many moons ago from my shop foreman/friend when I first started diesel mechanicing. My real name is Marty actually Martin but the name stuck and now all my friends just call me mort. 81 is the year I graduated from h.s. yeah I know getting old. Mort
@mort81 My son graduated HS in 89, so you can imagine how old I getting. @binkie7 Thank you that makes me feel better now
@Mort81 OMG, I had finished HS, 3 years in the Navy, college, and 11 years into my career by the time you finished HS (I finished in '61).
