Guys, I have a softmoded xbox and have spent a day trying to format it with xboxhdm (1.9) as sugested in the many guides. Problem is I can't mount the CDROM once inside the mini linux distro; after reading the many FAQs it seams this may be due to the fact that my pc mobo only has one IDE port(?) but i'm not sure...

Anyway, I also have a "hardmodded" xbox; is there a way to use this to format the hdd ready for my "softmodded" box?

    Any help greatfully recieved!

    Cheers,

    2ball.

you can format it but you will need to flash the tsop on your softmodded xbox for the hard drive to work without being locked unless you can format it and put the eeprom on the hard drive and then reconnect it to the softmodded console and have the console lock the hard drive, but im not sure if that would work out or not.
