I am relay loving my Mac experience... I am happy it isn't vista, but with the features of vista.

It is a great notebook, it has a great battery life, which is the reason why I bought it because I am going to be doing a bunch of flying in the month ahead!

Hey, Everyone, PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me !! This morning, I may have come across the find on my life (well, a 90% chance of it anyway)...those of you who know me know that I have a hobby of collecting these medium to medium-large sized marbles, bronzes and coppers of old Greek, Roman and Egyption soldiers, military stuff like chariots, mythological people and critters and gods. This morning, I walked past this salvation army thrift store. Off in a corner but well lit, was a three and a half, maybe four foot bronze of a Spartan soldier which I believe was a representation of Tyrtaeus (a minor soldier but the writer/historian we get most of information from). IT COULDN'T BE POSSIBLE" so I went home and got my digital camera which has a decent zoom. These people have no idea what they've got (well, I'm 90% sure)! They want $300 for a bronze that's worth thousands! It's numbered and signed but I couldn't make out the artist's name. I don't remember his name but there was this artist who sculpted (cast) a lot of those massive bronzes in our older cities ... Boston, Philly, New York, D.C., etc. I couldn't see the name but I recognized the style and I'm reasonably sure it isn't a knock-off! I doubt if many antique dealers go to this place as its mainly old clothes, used shoes, junky TVs and stereos, pots and pans etc. I'm going to play hookie from work tomorrow and wait by their door until they open. I shouldn't get my hopes but I can't help it; I'm damn near certain that it is what I think it is!!

Edit: This has happened here before. About ten years ago, this art student bought this really bad oil painting from a thrift store because he could use the frame. He paid like $5.00. He got home and took it apart to throw away the painting and polish the frame and behind the painting was an original copy of the American Constitution in perfect condition and worth millions! Perhaps some of you remember it because it was all over the news. If original, my bronze will be worth thousands, not millions but a hell of a find all the same!

Good luck with that one Gerry, sounds like a real hidden treasure if it all works out.

I just recently bought a new entertainment center with a flat panel lift in it.

The bad news is my Yamaha reciever and JVC 200 disc changer won't fit in it, so it looks like I'll be buying some new stereo equipment as well.

I really like my setup and any thing I get to fit in the given space will probably be a down grade.

    My latest acquisition? A godson.

My best friend, 16 years old, had his kid and I'm the god father :)

He's young but his girl is 18 and he's stepping up to the job so he has my support.

Other than that? an 8GB iPod Nano Video :p

It's a little small on storage but the screen is beautiful and it is a great mp3 player. The 8GB is enough for like 3 or 4 movies and some 350 songs with plenty of room to spare :p

Kid at 16 and 18? Damn, that must be tough - not passing judgement, just commenting.

Well, congrats then, to you and them.

Last thing i bought - Hubba Bubba bubblegum, lol :)

@Loco ... very nice entertainment center! We seem to have the same taste in that sort of thing; nothing I hate more than that shiny black, chrome and mirror crap ... looks pimpy!

The Bronze Sculpture Was A Fake !! It was a damned good fake and the numbering and signature was great and cast in the lost wax process, it looked perfect but when you lift it, it's a quater of the weight that the original would be. I'm so bummed out :(
