I'm having the same problem. Converted avi file to VCD with Nero and the sound is out of sync. Looks like a 70s Kung Fu movie :) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Using Nero to convert an AVI to VCD is not a good idea. Apparently, their coversion quality is pretty crappy (I have never bothered to try it). The best way to do it is to open the AVI in a coverting program (such as TMPGEnc) and convert it to a VCD through that. There are heaps of guides at http://www.vcdhelp.com that can help you both out.

Is the original AVI file out of sync, before conversion to VCD???
