I want to import a VHS tape from Japan but I was wondering if the tape would work on a US player. Thanks!!

There are very small differences between NTSC-J and NTSC-U but you probably won't notice any difference as they relate to black level...

The big problem you may find is if the tapes are 4.43 ntsc.. different colour subcarrier frequency. Players are dirt cheap, I don't know what the US situation is but I have a panasonic player with a 4.43 switch ;)

...............My brain just fell out my ear, I want to copy the tape to my computer and then burn it to a DVD for myself and then never watch the tape again (but keep it for my collection). What problem might arise from that?
