I recently bought a pack of 700Mb (52x) Verbatim Lightscribe CD-R's (LS Profile 1.2), I decided to finally burn one, curiously I checked the dyes of the discs with both Img Burn and Nero DiscSpeed and they both show the MID as 97m26s66f.

Not recognizing this MID I searched it and it turns out it's a CMC-MAG variant!
Now is this wrong or is Verbatim actually using CMC as a manufacturer??

The Verbatim LightScribes have been CMC-MAG for about a year.

Have a look at this post http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/312307/2832800

This table has the CD Speed test results of a number of discs.

I thought the Verbatim coded, Verbatim branded, LightScribes gave the lowest error count. Unfortunately when I bought my next cakebox they were not the same. Have a look at the row, second to last.
