Can anyone tell me what 2.4X or 1.4X means.
I am being careful to buy verbatim discs but never know which to buy.
2.4X + RW seem to work.
I am still very much hit and miss, I often get a sign up saying drive not ready put in an empty disc but when I do it just keep saying it.
Disks are expensive here I have to pay $4 each.
Iam using any DVD and clone DVD because I find it very easy.
    Thank you

    Hi,

The "X" rating is merely an indicator of the maximum speed the disc can be burned at.

    Some information would be helpful,

    Make/model drive

    Brand/type media being used

    System specs/OS

Do you get errors all the time?

Have you ever been able to successfully complete the burn process?

Is it just CloneDVD that gives you errors or can you burn DVDs with other software?

You also wanna make sure your burner's firmware is up to date. Also RW's are good to test on, but once you get burning buy +/-R's. Partly because RW's aren't very compatible in standalone players.
