Does anyone know why they are making new versions of the xbox. That makes my mad because the newer the version gets the less expensive the xbox gets.

M$ changes versions in attempts to prevent the use of modchips. Now that solderless chips are available for v1.6 microsoft should know by now that it is useless to try to put an end to piracy and modding. Less expensive Xboxes? Isn't that a good thing? :)

Then what are the new versions for. What's the difference anyway. Why do they make different versions of the xbox. If it doesn't make it any faster then what are the new versions for. I guess that that is my real question. And also big_g-man what do you mean when you say money hasn't made the new xboxes any faster. What are the newer versions for!?

He already answered your question, "M$ changes versions in attempts to prevent the use of modchips"

Dang I'm not getting it why are they making new versions if they. Is it better to have an old xbox if you want to mod it?

an older Xbox, just like an older car or home, is going to have issues before a newer xbox. the new ones have been changed slighty to make it harder to mod them, but apparently it has made a big difference. you don't have a lot to worry about.
