hi i just got a brand new 180p sharp LCD TV and i want to hook my laptop upto it, my laptop has only s-video and VGA output and my tv has Component, svideo and HDMI. so i desided to hook up my laptop with s-video (cuz i had one lying around) and the quality was quite poor and i could not change the resolution to fill up the tv. i was wondering what is the best way to hook up my laptop (VGA) to my HDTV without breaking the bank? i was thinking VGA to component but would that be any better then svideo?

    thanks

Hey. Im curious about which model number your sharp is as its quite uncommon for most high def telly's not to have vga inputs.

You will not be able to change the resolution of s-video, its 480i only. It does not have the bandwidth for HD.

Assuming your tv doesnt have vga, you would requite a vga to component adapter.
