Using Pioneer (DVD-105RW [OEM of A05]) I have captured a VHS film to hard disk (AVI format). I have then authored using authoring tool to title set. When attempting to burn to DVD using the latest Nero (which recognizes DVD burner), prior to even trying to write Nero reports DVD allocation error. If I continue, the DVD burns but will not play in a proper DVD player but will on my PC. I have tried using the Author program to burn the disk, but it fails with out an error message, just says it failed. Any ideas?
Before you burn the title set to your DVD-R create an image of the title set with Nero. Then go back into Nero and burn the image. Pretty much the only way to get a DVD-R to play in your standalone player is you create an image of your title set. Make sure that your title set contains both folders, VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS! -dvmaestro
