i am looking for some advise before i buy a vhs to dvd recorder, some dvd recorders when they have made acopy of a family hoilday it play's on the machine that has made the copy but will may not play on other dvd players. i need some help picking the right machine/brand/maker that will not do this. i look forward to some advise again before i buy the wrong one cheers.

Instead of a player, you could try something like EasyCap.
