vhs to dvd advise bfore i buy

    i am looking for some advise before i buy a vhs to dvd recorder, some dvd recorders when they have made acopy of a family hoilday it play's on the machine that has made the copy but will may not play on other dvd players.

    i need some help picking the right machine/brand/maker that will not do this.

    i look forward to some advise again before i buy the wrong one

    I cannot really recommend a certain player, however, the reason why "some dvd recorders when they have made acopy of a family hoilday it play's on the machine that has made the copy but will may not play on other dvd players" could be because the disc was not finalized when the copy was made.
    Instead of a player, you could try something like EasyCap. It will connect to your existing VHS player and record the movies to your computer using an USB port.
