I've extensively searched this forum for assistance with the following, but have found so much information that now I'm confused, so apologies if this question overlaps existing posts...

I'm converting VHS tapes to DVD. I have captured the tapes using a TV Card at 6400 kbps CBR. The programs are each 1 hour long and I want to put as many as possible onto DVD but so that the quality is no worse than the original VHS tapes.

Can somebody please advise me what resolution and bitrate I should convert to?

    Thanks

    Gary

    Sorry, it's PAL.
The site you list includes lost of comparisons between formats, but they're all digital. There isn't a comparison to suggest what the best resolution and bit rate for conversion from VHS is...
