I'm a newbie on this so I need some help.
I want to copy my VHS tapes to DVD but don't know what are the best programs to do it with. I'm not a novice to the computer so as long as it's not really complicated I can do it.
Anyone that can help me I would really appreciate it.
Also I want to be able to play the DVD on an older model DVD player.
    Thank you.

first step is you need a video capture card. if u have a one of those you should have software to allow you to capture. let me know what format the file is after its recorded and i might be able to recomend some software. do you have nero by the way?

To answer your first question, the only thing that I have captured is a movie from my hook-up to TV. I am using my ATI program for that. It captures in the format of ASX. So far I haven't tried anything on the VHS to DVD capture. I also have a program called DVD X Maker.
Second question, no I don't have Nero.
    I do have a video capture card, it's a RADEON 9800 XT.
Thanks for your reply to my message.
After posting this message I went ahead and downloaded the Nero Burning 6.6.0.15a.
