video but no sound!

    This is something very strange, whenever i play a avi format video the video does show up but there is no sound same is the case when i play DVDs in my computer.
    Is the codec messed up or something?
    Need Help!

    is your sound turned on? if so try running the file through g-spot and see what tells you

    do a google search and run the program to find out what your file has
