    I am looking to transfer my VHS and Hi 8 camcorder tapes on to DVD. Can anyone recommend a reliable video capture device? thanks

    The canopus is good. Plextor M402U will also do it for a little less $ but captures are mpeg 1/2/4. It won't capture to avi.
