Video card help

    I am have an Emachines T1742 and am trying to install a new video card. The card is an ATI Rage 128 VR PCI 32MB, when I install it into an available PCI slot it will not boot up. It just beeps and nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you checked that the card still works? It's presumably been sitting in a cupboard for a while, as they haven't made Rage cards for years.

    build a new computer that 1 sounds kinda old.

    Anyone have any useful tips. I know its an old computer and the card is pretty dated but I would like to know how to get it working. The card was working before and I tried all the PCI slots.
