Sam, is that around the ice level? Many people claim that their performance slows to a crawl during that level, and according to people over at incrysis, the ice is really hard on the GPU...
Didn't they make the ice a lot more like 3D-models rather than just surfaces with pretty textures? Maybe that's one of the things bothering performance, but I don't remember exactly. I've played through Crysis, and while my computer's performance was basically 'crap' at 'Ultra Low', I didn't notice much of extra crippling at specific settings/worlds. It's just when the action got tense, which is logical. But then the low settings would of course not take advantage of the heavier graphics. It was still all pretty much playable too though. But it helps that I'm a "pro" at crap performing games, I'm a 1337-lo-performance-gamer. XD How sad...
Ray: Yes it is, I'm not sure where I'd put the point at though, because on my 3870 it became unplayable in 'Core' - but on my 4870X2 by that point it's still playable. It definitely is not silky smooth in 'Reckoning' though, so I'll have to investigate to see where the boundary is. DInc: I remember being in that boat too - no matter what people say, playing games at decent frame rates just makes them so much more enjoyable.
I'm not one of those players... Besides I would just turn out like one of them headset crybabies. With my reason not being able to use the stupid gamepads properly. XD
Ahaa, it's really fun playing Xbox 360 games. The graphics are amazing. Especially considering 150 dollars.
The graphics are of course, very lame compared to proper PC games, but they're better than you can achieve using older hardware, and cheap too, although you certainly won't find one as cheap as $150 where you live, or in the UK.
Dinc, you crack me up "how sad." I very much know what you mean. I agree - those game pads seem tricky to me - I'll stick to the PC. What graphics card are you running since you sent back your gecube? Which one did you finally get up there in the land of the dikes. Sam, thanks for the info about the scaling to 1920x1200 - a 24" window in the middle of the screen - makes sense. Since boozer can't get the HPs anymore, which Dell are you recommending these days? Abuzar, is that you, or is that a famous cricket player? You finally posted a bit of humanity like Shaff - but who is the mystery man? Doesn't look like any of the local rednecks, so I am guessing it might be none other than yours truly, boozer!
lol It's me! Pshhh, do you think any pro Cricket player is as sexy as this? hell no. Not untill I join that is. Oh and I need to sell my spare Xbox 360 anyway.
Space xbox? Rich: a) Did you not ask what the best 24" monitor is? Maybe I misread. edit: yes you did. The 3008WFP then, hands down.

Yeah the 3008 has the same awesome picture quality as the 3007WFP-HC, but has a hardware scaler, so it includes all the bells and whistles HDTVs have - i.e. Component, Composite, S-Video, VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort as well as the Dual Link DVI the 3007s have. It still includes the 4-port USB hub and dualslot card reader.
