    harvrdguy,

The Gecube's Tech cooler is sandwiched between 2 plates as well.
Each plate has 2 heatpipes going to seperate heatsinks, using seperate cooling fans.

Thanks. Yeah that makes sense. They're using the standard MACS cooler. More or less. I wonder why the Ati version of the cooler doesn't exhaust out the back like the nvidia version does.

Hey Travis, by the way, is your gecube still working good?

(And btw again, since as of this weekend I now have a close relative with a broken leg, how is your little girl doing?)

And yes, abuzar, why is Sam beating you on 3dmark6 when you have a better cpu? (And, what is your score, by the way?)

    From Sam's profile:

And you, abuzar, have the x1900GT. (with how much memory, probably 512 also) So what kind of 3dmark6 scores are you getting, and how do we beat Sam?

Naw I only have 256 which probably effects it a lot. I'll post my updated score in a bit, when I finish doing my physics work. I need a PC for that so I can't run 3Dmark right now.

Alright so here is what I got.

    Main Test Results
    3DMark Score 5448 3DMarks
    SM 2.0 Score 1979 Marks
    SM 3.0 Score 2180 Marks
    CPU Score 2993 Marks

EDIT: Also I would like to mention that I'm at 3.2 Ghz on stock volts and 3.44 ghz at the voltage Sam is at, except he is only at a piddling 3 Ghz! lolerz! I hate it when people write that BTW, when they write lollerz or some stupid crap like that.

    So what about this then?

    Hehe.
As for the 3dmark, the GT isn't quite the same standard as my card, and neither is the X1950XT for AGP it seems. (Hoho!)

Edit: I think I may have figured out why my card outperforms you guys.
When the X1900GT was released, it was always meant to play second fiddle to the 'bigger' cards in the range, the XT and the XT-X. When these two were released at the beginning of 2006 they were pretty much the fastest cards you could buy (they were when i bought one anyway, at the princely sum of £327). As far as I know the X1950XT AGP was released when the X1950XT sat 'high midrange' in the list, a place that my card now occupies.
But hey, 2560x1600 gaming for pretty much everything, I'm not complaining! Be a bit sneaky with the dynamic lighting, and even FEAR runs at that res.

Funny that, I always thought 873 was a higher number than 840...

Now now, there's no need for that! A fair few people I know have 8800GTXs, and I don't hate any of them. Well, not for that reason alone, anyway! :D

Sam, that copter is amazing!! Good show chap! How do you get the blinking? The forum won't support html - so what's your trick?

Abuzar, I updated the 3dmark6 scores with your numbers, thanks.

Yeah I think the way ati names their cards, the xt version of something is always hotter than the gt version of the same card, and the xtx is the fastest still, Right? Plus you guys, Abuzar and Sam, are running PCI-E cards, which gives you a heads up over the gecube, isn't that so. Anyway, Abuzar, you seem to be running more or less the same as Mike with a gecube.

I added abuzar's, ray's, and my processor to the chart.

Hey Sam, what is your cpu and main ram?

Everybody else, Mike and Travis, how about letting us know what your processor and main system ram is, and I'll add that to the chart.

    MaccerM

Mike, you've got the best 3dmark6 numbers for a gecube - pushing Sam for sure. You must have a hot processor. I'm updating the chart on the prior page 35. I need your processor and your system Ram. Thanks, Rich

Wow, many posts! Well, should we see what we can get with our max overclocks, or is that a bad idea? I can run my card fine at 675/846, but sometimes I get artifacts at that mem speed so I sometimes drop it down to 834 I believe. Is this a ok overclock? I will try to run 3dmark06 this weekend with my max overclock, posts some pics with temps and then my score...

ROFL= Rolled on the floor laughing

BTW I just tested out the Bioshock demo and I seem to be getting better than double the framerates compared to my 7600 GT. Also I believe the detail was turned up higher with my X1900 GT.

The X1900GT should butcher the 7600GT in terms of performance. You've managed a pretty good overclock with it too.
