    Hey guys ,

This question has probably been asked loads in the forum but just to clear the air...

Could anyone tell me what the best FREE program/software is to convert different type of video files (ie avi, wmv, mpeg etc.) to dvd files that can be burnt to DVDR?

I'm using DivxToDVD at the moment but just wondering if thats the best and if there is a better converting software with more options etc...

Thanx alot for any of your help!! ;o)

vso divxtodvd is probably the best freeware encoder, but thats not saying much because there really isnt any freeware mpeg encoders out there floating around, well not mpeg2 encoders anyway. to get the best results you'll have to fork out some deniro. tmpgenc plus, canopus procoder, main concept and cinema craft encoder(cce) are the best encoders out on the market today.
