does the quality of video recorded from tv have anything to do with the signal coming in from your cable line or does it all depend on the video capture card?

Well of cource you would need a Strong and good Clean signal to capture From TV ...

If your capture card is Crap it doesn"t matter how good of a signal you have...also if you have a Good Card and a Good Signal But Crappy Capture software then that will also have an effect on Quality...

So for the Best quality you need a good strong and Clean signal and a Good Capture card and good capture Software and if any of these are Lacking the Quality will suffer...

    Cheers
